If you’re installing Windows XP, you automatically install MSN Messenger.
Because this Messenger program is useless to most of us, especially nowadays with Windows Live Messenger, you may want to uninstall Messenger directly after the installation of Windows XP
Uninstalling MSN Messenger cannot be done by unchecking the MSN Messenger in Add/Remove Programs. This will only delete the shortcut.
To uninstall the MSN Messenger completely, follow these steps:
- Click Start and click Run
- Copy and paste the following line:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove - Click OK. A progress bar appears for a few seconds, after that the MSN Messenger client is uninstalled.
Thank you for helping me to remove this blight from my machine.
