Outlook Web App looking like legacy OWA in Windows 8.1

If you recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11, you may have noticed your Outlook Webmail, also known as Outlook Web App, looks like back in early 2000’s.

To fix this, add the URL of your webmail to the Local Intranet Zone in IE11.

To do so, follow these steps

In IE11, go to the Internet Options. (hint: press Alt and release the button The menu bar appears. Now you can go to Tools –> Internet Options)

1. Click the tab Security
2. Click Local Intranet
3. Click Sites
4. Click Advanced
5. Type the URL of your webmail site and click Add
6. Click Close
7. Re-open the webmail site. Welcome back to 2013 🙂
