Got this strange error just yet, while viewing one of my Relying Party Trusts in Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS).
The following operation is not valid because the class View has shut down: BeginUpdates
Closing and reopening the AD FS Management Console did not help. Apparently some background process was preventing me from viewing the properties of the SAML Relying Party Trust.
Just to make sure it wasn’t a permission issue, I re-opened the console ‘as administrator’. And guess what: it worked 🙂 .
After double-clicking the RPT , the following message popped up (which was expected behavior):
Some of the content in the federation metadata was skipped because it is not supported by AD FS. Review the properties of the trust carefully before you save the trust to the AD FS Configuration database
Not sure what the problem was. Could not find anything in the eventlogs. If you have a similar issue and know to fix it, or what caused the error, please leave a comment 🙂
